The Culinary Skills Training Program offers youth recovering from mental illness or with other barriers to employment with training, coaching, and work experience so that they can enter the labour force or continue further culinary schooling.
Featuring a 4-course menu specially crafted Chef Uguccioni, our culinary students and instructors assist in the preparation and service for the event. There will be two seatings to choose from 5 pm- 6:30 pm or 7 pm – 8:30 pm. This opportunity allows students to be a part of putting together an evening of incredible food and to showcase the skills they gained from our training programs.
Our amazing sponsors donate products or services such as fresh, seasonal produce, floral décor, rental equipment or photography services. Guest Chef Night directly supports young adults in our training programs, which are entirely funded through philanthropy. We are very grateful for all the support from our partner chefs, sponsors, volunteers, and guests! Buy tickets here.
Chef Tyler Uguccini’s love of the mountains first brought him to British Columbia, where he worked at the Panorama Mountain Village ski resort as a cook. The experience inspired him to return to Ottawa to complete culinary training and pursue a career as a chef, with the goal of returning to B.C. to live and explore its wilderness.
Whether you’re a foodie or philanthropist, this night is not to be missed. The entire evening is staffed by volunteers and is being hosted by the Social Crust Café, a Coast Mental Health social enterprise initiative.
