Happy Holidays, from our new CEO
Happy Holidays Friends!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support in providing vital community-based mental health services across Greater Vancouver.
This year, we celebrate 50 years of making “The Difference” in the communities we serve. A link to a short video featuring Coast Mental Health’s accomplishments can be clicked here, but we encourage you to visit our website to learn more about our mission.
We are also recognizing another milestone, with Coast bidding farewell to Darrell Burnham after 35 years of service. On behalf of the entire organization, I want to thank Darrell for his tireless dedication and advocacy to help improve the lives of those living with mental illness.
On October 11th 2022, I began my new journey as Chief Executive Officer with Coast, and I couldn’t be more excited about the work and opportunities ahead. This work will require strong partnerships; and, we are so fortunate to have an amazing network of supporters who help enable our work and to advocate for people living with mental illness and substance use disorders.
This year, we extended our reach through the Yes, In My Backyard campaign, an initiative focused on increasing awareness of the gaps in mental health services that are vital in supporting our communities. We will continue to advocate on behalf of all Canadians to help secure better access to mental health care that is publicly funded and free.
Thank you for being such great supporters and we look forward to partnering with you again in 2023.
