Current Volunteer Positions

One on One Worker:

Facilitates participation in leisure interests and provides opportunities for social interaction with a client. Sample activities include: participating in community-based recreation programs; sharing special skills or interests; helping client learn transit system.

Program Assistant:

Facilitates participation in leisure and recreation activities for a variety of clients at one site. Sample activities include: Take a group for an outing in the community; run a walking program; run a craft, cooking or other program; share a skill or interest in a group setting.

Presenter/Instructor:

Share a specific expertise that will benefit clients at many sites. Sample activities include: provide free haircuts or other esthetic services, play or teach the use of a musical instrument provide personal budgeting assistance, run life-skills or wellness seminars.

Event Assistance:

Coast runs a number of events through the year, including the Courage to Come Back Awards. Event Assistants help with set-up and tear down, catering, serving, host/hostessing, registration and troubleshooting.

Governance:

Coast has a number of committees and opportunities to be involved at a governance level.

Pre-Employment Programs:

If you are able to provide supported employment, transitional employment or act as a Job Coast or Mentor for a client, this is the volunteer opportunity for you.

Other positions:

If you are able to collect donations, host or plan a holiday event or provide another service - we are open to creative ideas. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
