Strategic Plan

What's Next For Coast Mental Health?

2008 Strategic Planning for our future

Since 1974, Coast Mental Health has supported people with mental illness through housing, jobs, community, rehabilitative social and recreational opportunities, and basic life skills training.

Challenges in meeting the needs of people who have mental illness are increasing and changing, however significant opportunities to work with and support people with mental illness are also emerging.

In order to meet these challenges and take advantage of opportunities, Coast is developing a new strategic plan, which involves reviewing our core business areas, conducting an environmental scan, consulting extensively with a wide range of stakeholders and finalizing a strategy to move Coast forward.

Coast needs to extend its reach in a number of areas in order to better serve its stakeholders, but we also need to ensure all our activities are well-supported - the strategic plan will help us achieve this balance.

As part of our planning, we have consulted with clients, members, staff, partner organizations and others; our consultations involved individual interviews and hosted group conversations.

Our strategic planning consultation took place March through June 2008. Our new Strategic Plan will be available late September 2008.  If you have any questions or would like more information, contact us at: whatsnext@coastmentalhealth.com
